"Once there lived an old man in a village. He had three sons. They used to quarrel with one another. The old man was anxious of this matter. He was always in a gloomy mood. He thought how to stop the quarrel...'

Once there lived an old man in a village. He had three sons. They used to quarrel with one another. The old man was anxious of this matter. He was always in a gloomy mood. He thought how to stop the quarrel.
So, one day he made a plan. He called his three sons and gave them a bundle of sticks. Then he said, “Try to break this bundle.” Each son tried, but none of them could break it.
Then the old man untied the bundle and gave one stick to each of them. This time, they broke the sticks very easily.
The old man smiled and said, “My dear sons, if you remain united like the bundle of sticks, no one can harm you. But if you are divided, you will be weak and easily broken.”
The sons understood the lesson. They promised their father that they would never quarrel again and would always stay united.

এক গ্রামে এক বৃদ্ধ থাকতেন। তার তিন ছেলে ছিল। তারা একে অপরের সঙ্গে মাঝে মধ্যেই ঝগড়া করতো। বৃদ্ধ লোকটি তাদের ঝগড়া নিয়ে চিন্তিত থাকতেন। তিনি সবসময় কষ্ট অনুভব করতেন। তিনি ভাবতেন, কীভাবে তাদের ঝগড়া থামানো যায়।
অতঃপর একদিন তিনি একটি পরিকল্পনা করলেন। তিনি তার তিন ছেলেকে ডাকলেন এবং তাদের কয়েকটি কাঠের টুকরো একসাথে বেঁধে দিলেন। তারপর বললেন, "এটি ভেঙে দেখাও।" ছেলেরা চেষ্টা করল, কিন্তু কেউই এটি ভাঙতে পারল না।
এরপর তিনি গুচ্ছটি খুলে প্রতিটি ছেলেকে এক একটি করে লাঠি দিলেন। এবার তারা খুব সহজেই লাঠিগুলো ভেঙে ফেলল।
বৃদ্ধ লোকটি হাসলেন এবং বললেন, "প্রিয় সন্তানরা, তোমরা যখন একসাথে ছিলে, তখন কেউ তোমাদের ক্ষতি করতে পারেনি। কিন্তু যদি তোমরা আলাদা হয়ে যাও, তাহলে তোমরা দুর্বল হয়ে যাবে এবং সহজেই ভেঙে পড়বে।"
ছেলেরা সেই সময় বুঝতে পারল এবং প্রতিজ্ঞা করল যে তারা আর কখনো ঝগড়া করবে না এবং সবসময় ঐক্যবদ্ধভাবে থাকবে।
স্টোরি লেখার সময় যা মনে রাখতে হবে
স্টোরি লিখতে হবে স্টোরির মতো। প্যারাগ্রাফের মতো করে নয়। স্টোরিতে কয়েকটি প্যারা থাকবে। Direct Speech এ কথাগুলো থাকবে। সেভাবেই আমরা এখানে লিখে দেয়ার চেষ্টা করেছি। গল্পকে যদি প্যারাগ্রাফের মতো করে লিখে ফেলি, তাহলে তা হলো না।
