A Tea Stall
A Tea Stall is a small shop where drinkable tea and snacks are sold and served to the customers for earnings. It is commonplace for all types of people except the superior class. It is common in both villages and towns. A tea stall is everywhere. It is available on the sea beach, hill stack, roadside, local markets, bus station, train station everywhere. Usually, the tea stall opens early in the morning and closes late at night. In a tea stall, only tea is not served. Besides tea, bread, biscuits, chips, betel leaf, bananas, cigarettes, and so many snacks are being served in a tea stall. In many cases, the owner of the shop runs the stall though, in a lot of tea stalls, a boy or an old man serves. A tea stall is not a very clean place. Normally it has two parts. One is the stall and the other part is some benches in front of the stall where the customers sit. People of different ages come to a tea stall and discuss various topics including politics. Nowadays, there is a television in tea stalls. On some special matchday (cricket match or football), people make gatherings in a tea stall. A tea stall is a place to charm and refresh oneself for the common people and young boys. Therefore, tea stall is a permanent thing in our country and from prediction, it is to be said that they will be the same in the near future at least.

একটি চায়ের দোকান হচ্ছে এমন একটি ছোট দোকান যেখানে জীবিকার জন্য পানযোগ্য চায়ের সাথে হালকা খাবার বিক্রি করা হয় ক্রেতাদের কাছে। খুব উপরের শ্রেণির মানুষদের বাদ দিয়ে এটি বাকি সব শ্রেণির মানুষের কাছে একটি কমন জায়গা। গ্রামে এবং শহরে দুইজায়গাতেই চায়ের দোকান আছে। চায়ের দোকান আছে সমুদ্র সৈকতে, আছে পাহাড়ে, রাস্তার পাশে, বাজারে, বাস স্টেশনে, রেল স্টেশনসহ সবজায়গায়। সাধারণত, একটি চায়ের দোকান ভোরের দিকেই চালু হয়ে যায় এবং বন্ধ হয় গভীর রাতে। চায়ের দোকানে শুধু যে চা বিক্রি হয়, ব্যাপারটা তেমন না। চায়ের পাশাপাশি এখানে রুটি, বিস্কুট, চিপস, পান, কলা, সিগারেটসহ আরও অনেক ধরনেরই ছোটখাটো খাবার বিক্রি হয়। অনেকক্ষেত্রেই দোকানের মালিক নিজেই দোকান চালান আবার অনেক ক্ষেত্রে পারিশ্রমিকের বিনিময়ে কোনো কিশোর কিংবা কোনো বৃদ্ধলোক চায়ের দোকান পরিচালিত করে থাকে। চায়ের দোকান সাধারণত পরিষ্কার পরিচ্ছন্ন থাকে না। চায়ের দোকানে প্রধানত দুটি ভাগ থাকে। একটি হচ্ছে মূল দোকান এবং অন্যটি দোকানের সামনে রাখা কিছু বেঞ্চ যেখানে ক্রেতারা বসেন। বিভিন্ন বয়সের লোকেরা এখানে এসে চা পানের পাশাপাশি রাজনৈতিক আলোচনাসহ অন্যান্য বিভিন্ন বিষয়ে আলোচনা করে। বর্তমান সময়ে চায়ের দোকানে টেলিভিশন থাকে। এর ফলে বিভিন্ন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কিংবা আলোচিত ক্রিকেট এবং ফুটবল ম্যাচের দিন চায়ের দোকানের সামনে বাড়তি ভীর থাকে, মানুষ এখানে এসে একসাথে চায়ের সাথে খেলা উপভোগ করে। চায়ের দোকান মনকে শান্ত করার জন্য অনেক সময় কার্যকরী। ফলে চায়ের দোকান এখন যেমন এদেশের চিরায়ত অংশ, তেমনিই থাকবে অন্তত নিকট ভবিষ্যতে, আন্দাজ করে এটুকু বলাই যায়।
