Simple, Complex, Compound Sentence চেনার উপায়
- যদি কোনো Sentence এ একটি subject এবং একটি verb থাকে, তবে সেই Sentence টি Simple Sentence।
- যদি and/or/but ব্যতিত অন্য কোনো conjunction (sub ordinate conjunction) যুক্ত দুটি subject এবং দুটি verb বিশিষ্ট sentence থাকে, তবে তা complex sentence।
- দুটি Sentence এবং দুটি verb বিশিষ্ট sentence যদি and/or/but যুক্ত হয়, তবে ওই Sentence টি Compound Sentence। এখানে and/or/but থাকবে দুটি clause কে যুক্ত করার connectors হিসেবে।
Simple to Complex করার নিয়ম
1. যদি simple sentence শুরু হয় Verb + ing দিয়ে তবে তাকে complex করার জন্য অর্থ সামঞ্জস্য রেখে when/as/since ব্যবহার করতে হবে।
Simple: Working hard, Tamim scored another century against Zimbabwe.
Complex: Since Tamim worked hard, he scored another century against Zimbabwe.
2. Simple Sentence এর In spite of + possessive + verb + ing এর জন্য complex sentence এ though/although বসে।
Simple: In spite of his working hard, he could not pass the exam.
Complex: Though he worked hard, he could not pass the exam.
3. By + verb + ing এর জন্য complex sentence এ positive if clause ব্যবহার করতে হয়।
Simple: By working hard, he will succeed in blogging life.
Complex: If he works hard, he will succeed in blogging life.
4. Without + verb + ing এর জন্য complex sentence এ negative if clause/unless + ... ব্যবহার করতে হয়।
Simple: Without working hard, you will not become a good web developer.
Complex: Unless you work hard, you will not become a good web developer.
5. too + adjective + to যুক্ত Simple Sentence কে Complex করার জন্য So + adj +that + subject +can not/could not + .... গঠন অনুসরন করতে হয়।
Simple: The old man is too week to move.
Complex: The old man is so week that he can not move.
6. Simple Sentence এর Principal Clause + to + verb এর জন্য Complex Sentence এ So that/in order that বসে।
Simple: He practices hard to make a century.
Complex: He practices hard so that he may make a century.
7. Simple Sentence এর Principal Clause + adjective + noun এর জন্য complex sentence এ who/which/that এর মতো relative pronoun ব্যবহৃত হয়।
Simple: I know the wise man.
Complex: I know the man who is wise.

Simple to Compound করার নিয়ম
এক্ষেত্রে যে কথাটি মাথায় রাখতে হবে তা হচ্ছে বাক্যে থাকা ওই একটি subject কে ব্যবহার করেই দুটি sentence গঠন করতে হবে এবং এদেরকে and/or কিংবা but দ্বারা যুক্ত করতে হবে।
1. যদি simple sentence শুরু হয় Verb + ing দিয়ে তবে তাকে Compound করার জন্য দুটি তবে verb + ing এর অংশকে একটি পূর্নাঙ্গ Sentence করে দ্বিতীয় Sentence এর সাথে and দ্বারা যুক্ত করতে হবে।
Simple: Working hard, Tamim scored another century against Zimbabwe.
Compound: Tamim Iqbal Worked hard and he scored another century against Zimbabwe.
2. Simple Sentence এর In spite of + possessive + verb + ing এর জন্য compound sentence করার জন্য পূর্ববর্তী নিয়ম অনুযায়ী প্রথম অংশ দিয়ে পূর্ণাঙ্গ বাক্য তৈরি করে দুটি বাক্যকে but দ্বারা যুক্ত করতে হবে।
Simple: In spite of his working hard, he could not pass the exam.
Compound: He worked hard but he could not pass the exam.
3. By + verb + ing এর জন্য compound sentence এর প্রথম অংশকে Imperative Sentence এর রূপ দিয়ে দুটি বাক্যকে and দ্বারা যুক্ত করতে হয়।
Simple: By working hard, you will succeed in blogging life.
Compound: Work hard and you will succeed in blogging life.
4. Without + verb + ing এর জন্য compound sentence er প্রথম অংশকে Imperative Sentence এর রূপ দিয়ে দুটি বাক্যকে or দ্বারা যুক্ত করলেই হবে।
Simple: Without working hard, you will not become a good web developer.
Compound: Work hard or you will not become a good web developer.
5. too + adjective + to যুক্ত Simple Sentence কে Compound করার জন্য very/much এবং and ব্যবহার করতে হয় নিচের উদাহারণের মতো।
Simple: The old man is too week to move.
Compound: The old man is very week and he can not move.
6. Simple Sentence এর Principal Clause + to + verb এর জন্য Compound করার জন্য and এর ব্যবহার করতে হয় নিচের উদাহারণের মতো।
Simple: He practices hard to make a century.
Compound: He practices hard and he may make a century.
7. Simple Sentence এর Principal Clause + adjective + noun এর জন্য compound করার জন্যও and ব্যবহার করতে হয়।
Simple: I know the wise man.
Compound: I know the man and he is wise.
Complex to Compound করার নিয়ম
1. as/since/when যুক্ত complex sentence কে compound করার জন্য as/since/when ইত্যাদি তুলে দিতে হয় এবং complex sentence এর কমা (,) এর স্থলে and বসাতে হয়।
Complex: As I played well, I won the game.
Compound: I played well and I won the game.
2. Though/Although যুক্ত complex sentence করতে হলে though/although তুলে দিয়ে পরের comma এর স্থানে but বসাতে হয়।
Complex: Though he is a potential cricketer, he can not make a hundred in international cricket even once.
Compound: He is a potential cricketer but he can not make a hundred in international cricket even once.
এমনভাবে বাকি গুলো সহজেই করে নিতে পারবেন। এর জন্য যা যা করতে হবে, Simple to Complex এর Complex sentence এর জন্য একই simple sentence এর compound structure দেখে complex to compound করে নিতে পারবে সহজেই। একই ভাবে Complex to Simple, Compound to Simple, Compound to Complex ও করতে পারবেন পূর্ববর্তী উদাহারণ গুলো থেকে।
